Good games out of conference are not the same as good ones in conference...

BYU beating Texas or another big name program in a vacuum doesn't mean much if it doesn't affect a conference race. Even when BYU was playing SDSU or Wyoming it was the important as part of a race among the top three times in the MWC (BYU, TCU, and Utah). The standings mattered and affected bowl placement.
