I had some embarrassing moments, like the history fair, that I would not want my children to experience. We were quite poor and my parents wouldn't buy me anything to help out with my history fair presentation. I had to scrounge stuff from around the house and the final result was really bad. I was in a class for gifted and talented students. A couple of those students went on to the national history fair and I think one even placed. I was bullied that year for being different (i.e. poor). Anyway, that's why I plan on taking a more involved approach with my kids' school projects.
