One thing that I do agree with Buck on...it is definitely a frustrating time...
The interview was nothing more than him expressing many of the same frustrations many of us have had. I don't doubt the culture is different now from when he played. I don't doubt many former players have felt left out in the cold. I don't think we hear about it much because the players just fade away, withdraw their support and don't bother to stay in touch anymore. I seem to remember a time when BYU held an open invitation to players returning to the program and even had an event prior to the season where they were invited back. But I also remember former players not being allowed into practice or other facilities without permission from the coaching staff. I might be wrong on both counts?

I think what I just heard was a disaffected former player that is not happy with how things are going in Provo. He really isn't much different than a lot of us, but he surely is different in his connection to the program. A lot of the interview was his experience and perception, but a lot of what he said was ringing true. His take on Utah and how the program has slowly elevated itself was on the mark. No one can argue that as we have all witnessed it happening.

If...or should I say when...Bronco leaves BYU, I think most fans will be startled at the culture shift that will take place. Whether it is Sitake, Anae or some other coach. I wish Bronco could figure it out and that his tenure would have a happy ending, but I just don't think he is a great head coach. Good....yes....but not great. After ten years there is no reason to think things will get better.
