So you agree that he is breaking the terms of his contract

which stipulates what he is required to do in exchange for his pay.

You said, "Marshawn is paid to bring in higher revenues by winning games". Per the contract, he is also being paid to "cooperate with the news media". So when he does not do that, he loses money. Pretty simple.
