BYU & Entitlement
I think it is one of the biggest flaws of BYU... This is not specifically to athletics, but the school in general. First off I am a grad from the business school, so this isn't any envy I have haha...

I think with the LDS affiliation, obviously they get a ton of applicants, many of them that could have definitely gotten into to better schools but choose BYU because of the environment... They never really have to "sell" the school... As a result, the alumni engagement / treatment is pretty poor compared to my other alumni programs, which are big schools... I think this trinkles into athletics as well... Many of the workers there just assume that everyone is willing to drop everything and go there and that if you are not knocking on the door, you don't belong there...

Bronco's mentality about coming to kids and saying they should come as a walk on fits this description... Sure, this will have to be proposed to fit the roster, but sometimes I feel like BYU takes advantage of the religious reason kids are there and trys to capitalize on it...Ive had some bad experiences with the school and how they have reached out to me as an alumni... Seems very one-sided... Anyway, its a difficult thing to change, but it would be beneficial to all if BYU put a bit more effort into trying to sell itself instead of waiting for you to come.
