The other conferences except the SEC have made no specific statements...
...regarding BYU OR Notre Dame as a P-5 equal at the commissioner level. They have included Notre Dame as a courtesy in discussions of P-5 autonomy but frankly, have not included or excluded either BYU or notre Dame from the P-5 mix at the executive level. The universities are a different story. In every case, the scheduling announcements from the P-5 side have always indicated that BYU was an equal for SOS purposes. Many AD's and certainly many coaches have confirmed their opinion that BYU is a P-5 level program the same way they express that about Notre Dame.

Even the comments made by Brett McMurphy regarding the SEC's response were quite tempered if you listened carefully. He said that the SEC was not now changing their position, but indicated that ht (SEC) said in light of the ACC decision it may revisit the BYU situation in the near future.

FYI, my father's family is from the deep south and SEC country. That statement by the SEC is the SEC saying, "We have to find a way to change our minds and not look like bigoted putter-heads."

ESPN pays a great deal of the SEC paycheck, and ESPN is behind the scenes pushing for BYU to get that full ND type recognition. Its only a matter of time before the SEC decides to move out of the age of woolly mammoths and into the age of elephants.
