Ever since all that legislation trying to phase out incandescent bulbs, it seems like they suck bad now.
I got a big pack if Phillips bulbs a while back and they were particularly bad. It seemed like I was changing several bulbs per week.
I started replacing bulbs with LEDs recently and it's been great. You can get a 60W LED replacement bulb (with the same 2700k soft white light) for $7-$8 each now, and I have yet to have one of those burn out on me. Of course they save money on energy, but I think they really pay for themselves by not having to replace them that much. I got some LED replacements for the 65W floodlights in my kitchen and they have been great. The incandescent builbs cost $6/each, and the LED bulbs cost around $17 each at Costco.
In fact, I posted about this last year.
