I think the Refs were over-whelmed by the Dons and had a hard time keeping
control at times, especially in the first half. The game was really ugly. USF had 28 fouls called on them but there were probably 28 others that they didn't call. In the first half for about 8-10 mins the refs just kind of threw up their hands.

Good game plan by the Dons, we've seen in the WCC that if you foul the Cougars 50 times there's no way the refs want to blow thier whistle that many times so opponents win out by getting away with a lot of scratching and clawing and destroying BYU's shooting percentage. I wonder what Corbin Kaufusi's arms and wrists look like. I'll bet they look like he was hand-feeding a tank full of piranha. Everytime he got a rebound he was swarmed and attacked by at least 3 guys and couldn't even get his arms free to pass the ball out.

The less talented teams in teh WCC have figured out the trick to beating BYU is to over-whelm the officials and turn the game into a cage wrestling match. BYU gets physically beat up and worn down, out of sync and rushes their shots on tired legs. BYU can't run when they can't get a clean rebound. I think the first over-the-back call vs USF came with 3:59 to go in the 2nd half. They way they attacked the glass and BYU bigs on the boards in the first 30 minutes it's pretty amazing they didn't commit a dozen up to that point. By the time the refs figured out how to get the game under control in the 2nd half the damage was done. Playing ugly basketball just isn't BYU's style.
