"Inclusion like ND" has 3 components...
And in actuality all P5 conferences have something similar for these same 3 components to an extent...

1) automatic payout of TV revenues
2) contract for participation to one of the NY6 bowls (P5's for champs, etc)
3) earn a high enough ranking to be included (top 4 for CFP semi-finals and top 5-12 [depending on year and other contracted/guaranteed representatives] for at large)

Before breaking this down on what ND or P5's have I will not be including below the $4M a team gets for participation in a NY6 or the $6M they get for participating in a CFP semi-final game.

For ND it is the following:
1) $3.5M or 1% of total CFP revenue - every year even if they didn't play in a NY6 game
2) ND has a contract with the Orange Bowl over the 12 years of the current CFP they must be the choice as the team opposite the ACC at least 2 times. The B1G & SEC must also be picked at least 2 times each during this 12 year cycle. Participation in this specific bowl would pay them an additional $27.5M in TV revenues in years the Orange is not a CFP semi-final game.
3) every team in FBS has this same "opportunity" even though perception, prestige, SOS, etc will make it difficult for some teams to earn that kind of ranking even if undefeated

For P5 conferences:
1) $50M per conference that must be split evenly among the number of teams in the conference.
2) P5's have contracts with the Rose/Sugar/Orange Bowls in years that they are not a CFP semi-final game the top available team from the conference will get in (i.e. if the champ is in a semi-final game the #2 team will participate in the conference's contracted game). Also champs of all P5's will be in either the playoff or one of the NY6 bowls regardless of overall finish.
3) every team in FBS has this same "opportunity" but a P5 will have an advantage in perception, prestige, SOS, etc.

For Go5 conferences:
1) $19M per conference that must be split evenly among the number of teams in the conference - every year even if they didn't play in a NY6 game.
2) Only contract is for the top ranked Go5 champion to get in to a NY6 bowl game every year - this is an opportunity for only 5 teams (champs) each year from the Go5 conferences.
3) every team in FBS has this same "opportunity" even though perception, prestige, SOS, etc will make it difficult for some teams to earn that kind of ranking even if undefeated

For BYU (or Army and this last year Navy and next year UMass):
1) $1.75M split evenly among the number of independent teams (approx $583K each) - every year even if they didn't play in a NY6 game. I doubt that BYU's status in this area would change during the current CFP 12 year contract.
2) ABSOLUTELY NO CONTRACT AT THIS TIME and I don't see it changing during the current CFP 12 year contract.
3) every team in FBS has this same "opportunity" even though perception, prestige, SOS, etc will make it difficult for some teams to earn that kind of ranking even if undefeated - BUT with formal public statements by all P5's (assuming it came from all) could greatly improve BYU's perception, prestige, etc to give them a rankings boost.

Recap of what each entity meets on "inclusion".
ND = 3/3
P5's = 3/3 (and for B1G/SEC kind of 4/3 since they have the extra contracts with the Orange Bowl)
Go5's = 2.2/3 (even though #1 is significantly lower and only 1 of the Go5 get in [thus .2])
BYU/Army/UMass = 2/3 (even though #1 is significantly lower than even Go5's guarantee payout - that said if BYU/Army/UMass is included in a NY6 or Semi-final they get the full $4M or $6M all to themselves with no conference to split it up with - same for ND)

In the short run BYU could be enhanced in #3 by recognition by other P5's. If BYU were to win their way in to a NY6 a couple times (or more) during this 12 year contract they may be able to work more revenue percentage out of the next contract and maybe even work their way into an alternate contract like ND/B1G/SEC have with the Orange with one of the bowls (Fiesta?/Cotton?/Peach?/Orange?).

So BYU is "included" in 2/3 ways but at a much lower level. But being labeled one of them could change how we are treated in the next contract but not likely for this one.
