Anyone ever just used the point and that's it
just for burnt ends? Or does it not work like that? I think I'll have too much other stuff and don't want a huge brisket. Can I just get one part and use it for burnt ends?

You can buy the point sold alone. I've seen them at Costco and Harmons.
