Marquette is in a rebuilding year with a first year coach who suffered an exodus upon his arrival and has some good players coming in next year. Matt is his only senior, so his young teammates will have the chance to play with a floor leader who will make them better next year. Davies had to wait for Portsmouth for that kind of PG.
It's a near perfect fit at Marquette for one year. Marquette would have fewer wins this year without him.
