Couple things:
1. Everyone is talking about the threes from tonight's game, but BYU scored the same number of points tonight as they did on Thursday. The reason this win was a laugher and Thursday wasn't is that BYU rebounded the ball and played occasional defense. The scoring wasn't the difference.

2. Haws is a reliable guy for 20 a night. He should be appreciated and celebrated. Ainge, however was in a different class, and as evidence, I offer that he set his scoring mark in ten fewer games than Haws, and without the benefit of the three-point line. If they'd had the three, Ainge might have set the mark out of reach of anyone.

3. Nixon may be in the game for rebounding purposes, as Rose said, but if he is, it might be useful if he would rebound. Or play at least passable defense. Since he won't score, even by accident, there has to be something else he can do, or BYU soaks up two floor spots with people that don't have to be guarded or boxed out. Andrus, by contrast, got eight boards last night, five of them on the offensive glass, in just 12 minutes, and scored five points. Nixon had three rebounds in 21, and it isn't as if Kaufusi was soaking them all up - he had two. Just as a matter of personal preference, if we're looking for rebounding, I'd like a rebounding forward to outrebound Skyler Halford. If Rose is looking for a forward to pair with Kaufusi, I think he's chosen the wrong one so far.

4. Making a prediction: if BYU beats Pepperdine on Thursday, the Cougars are going to the dance. If they lose, it's the NIT.
