too many times I have seen from football, baseball, VB and basketball where if you have $$$ your kid (regardless how poorly he plays) will make the team. Parents, especially parents with no former sports experience either from HS or college get so upset if their Johnny isn't on the team. But they will easily spend 5-6k a year to ensure their Johnny gets notice.
