LOL. On the whole, Utah HS basketball isn't on the same level ...
... as California or Texas, just by virtue of sheer size. California produces hundreds of ball players for college teams all over the country. Most of the Pac-12's best players are all from California. The same can be said about football. Although Utah as a state is getting better and better and producing more D1 players, to say it is on the same level as California or Florida or Texas is ridiculous.

Since you brought it up: 2013 was Lone Peaks national championship year. Here are a list of some of the top players in California that year:

Compared to the top talent in Utah:
