Classes can be pretty tough and very competitive since every freshman comes in thinking they are gonna be a future doc/dentist (at least it seems that way).

It can almost hurt you because you will be compared against other BYU applicants. No school wants to have a class that is 50% LDS because it doesn't look good for them. It is hard to be compared to other BYU students because there are so many really bright kids.

That being said, BYU also has an awesome pre-professional department and a good reputation among dental/medical schools so there are some benefits to that as well.
