It's got a lot of fun adventures around there. They have shuttles for everything you could want to do that will pick you up right at your hotel. My HCBW and I went horse back riding, canyoneering, zip lining, horse back riding, and river rafting (class III-IV) all in that area. After about 5 days there we went down on the western coast and stayed at the Los suenos Marriott. It was a great place to hang out at the beach and we did some surfing and went on a boat to tortuga (not the one in the carribbean) where we got to snorkel and hang out on the beach some more. We rented a car and drove a couple hours south of Los suenos and went to whatever national park is all the way by the southern border of the country. Both places we went were awesome for what we were looking to do. I don't know if that's what you are looking for but hopefully this helps a bit.
