I lived in monterey area for 15 years. I you have time go to point Lobos. Cannery row has some good places to eat but looks for the mom and pop places in cannery row. Lovers point is the safes place to take kids and get in the water in Pacific Grove. Honestly can't go wrong with any place you visit.
