This is a no duh but winning isn't enough. We have to win on national TV for all of the members to see. Case in point in Florida today. Down here most of the members are Gator, Noles, LSU or Bama fans but they'll casually root for BYU when they can see them. A lot of buzz today in the ward today from the LDS folk in this region about the game. Beating Gonzaga last night on some obscure regional channel does the national fan base no good. Winning on ESPN for all to see builds support.

This translates to football independence. We have a national fanbase to feed. We don't have the luxury of being a regional program that covers it's Fandom with KJZZ. Winning is good....but winning on national TV for all BYU fans is what the real intent is.
