They didn't whistle anything on Kaufusi early which really helped keep him on the court more minutes. Which at this point is critical since he's the best of our available big men. He eventually did get four fouls. Worthington, who refs absolutely hate, quickly in little PT picked up five. Collinsworth fouled out but not until right near the end of the game and wasn't in early foul trouble either. So his play wasn't really limited by fouls.
Although Gonzaga fouled a lot more than we did, the fouls called were fairly even which is all we can ask for. The refs let them get away with more than we get away with but at least two Zags, Wesley and Bell ended with four fouls which put them on the bench at times. That was helpful to the cause.
The officials the WCC hires are terrible but this was one of the better officiated games from a fairness and consistency standpoint. It's always better when we win. At least fans on both sides had complaints about the officiating so you know they're doing something right.
