i agree nash's defense was bad. but "steals" is probably one of the worst
metrics to calculate skills/ability as a defender. just google advanced metrics for defense...steals are a horrible way to "explain" defense statistically. not saying they are useless but they almost are.
having said that, stockton was a better defender than nash, but that's not saying much. i don't think stockton was anywhere close to the best PG defender during his time in NBA.
