Wiltjer could be an all-american, and win the inaugural Karl Malone PF of the year award, but he's not good enough to win the POY in the wcc?

My understanding is the coaches of each team can nominate one player from each team for POY. Obviously, with the year Gonzaga had, Few could have nominated any number of players from his team and they would have won the award. But Wiltjer clearly deserved it. At least he got the SI cover:
