BYU only offered one JC quarterback who wanted a clear path to start. I don't think any JC player is scared of Mangum who hasn't played in more than 3 seasons and who won't have the benefit of spring ball. Any JC QB would have been the only legitimate spring ball option and Hill doesn't have a track record of staying healthy. The coaches have decided to live on the edge the past two seasons. Fortunately, Stewart turned out to be legit. They better make Mangum 2nd string at the start of fall camp, because there's a steep drop off after that.
