My sister went to Southern Virginia University, and loved it. She met her husband there, and he ended up going to Cornell for grad. school. It's got solid academics, and it is situated in a gorgeous location. It plays NCAA Division III sports. For those that would thrive better in a small school setting, this is a great option.
