Having lived in Colorado, Utah, and Texas I can unreservedly day that winter
Weather and winter driving is worse in Texas. People from Northern or mountain states don't know what it's like to drive on pure ice. 6"of snow in Utah is no big deal and you can easily drive on it. 1/2" if ice in Texas is very difficult to drive on, and 1/2" of ice with 3" of snow on top is nearly impossible. There is no traction.
