No question about it. Hip Hop is the youth music of today.
In 30 years, Kanye West will be discussed the way that Led Z is discussed in relation to their era and U2 in relation to theirs. Olds like me don't really appreciate hip hop, but that's exactly how old jazz/big band fans felt about rock and roll when it became the new youth music.
Rock survives today for older people. Hip Hop and electronic is for youth.
