May as well be provided by BYU/BYUI. I doubt they're losing money on it. Even if they aren't, it develops some degree of attachment/allegiance to the school that wouldn't exist otherwise.

What's the point of a BYU online education?

It's great for those that left BYU/Ricks/etc. prior to finishing their degree.

For non-traditional students, this is the cheapest way to get an education
