Plus he had to install a real culture shift from how things were under Howell
to how he wants them to be. You can argue that he never should have let his defense slip away from the mentality he wants them to have, but that is water under the bridge. It happened, and now he is reclaiming the defense and making it his again.
This is definitely a good thing, and it bodes well for the upcoming season.
