Well, I can see why you need a new car every three years.
Hopefully, as teenagers, your kids will be able to control their feces and vomit problems and you'll be able to actually keep a car in the future. Given the increased reliability of all cars, across the board, it makes even less sense now (if that's possible) to lease or buy new and turn in or sell--ever.

I know you're made of money and a hopeless "car guy". Cheers to you! To the rest of us who want to work less/retire sooner, new cars are nothing but portfolio drags. The best you'll ever do is buy a highly reliable one 3-4 years used and drive it all the way to the junkyard.
