i accidentally ran over some kid's dog. the dumb thing just ran out in front of me. tried to swerve and i stomped the brake, but all to no avail.

anyway, the kid heard the tire screech or something and he and a bunch of his friends came running out of the house in their party hats. it was apparently the kid's birthday.

and the worst part is that, because i was so young and stupid, i assumed the dog was actually still under my tires so i tried to slowly back up off of the thing. that only made it worse though because i ended up just very slowly running the dog over again right in front of the birthday boy.

i think about it a lot. must have just absolutely ruined that kid. to him it probably looked like i backed over it again on purpose while actively trying to maintain eye contact with him.

what a bummer.
