The contract with BYU — which plays Missouri on Nov. 14 at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium and hosts the Tigers on Nov. 7, 2020, in Provo, Utah — includes some extra stipulations to help make up for the game BYU was supposed to play at UNLV this season.

Now, FCS team Wagner will play at BYU on Oct. 24 and FCS team Idaho State will play at UNLV on Sept. 26.

Missouri and BYU are splitting the costs for a chartered flight, lodging for two nights, meals and transportation for Wagner for its October trip to Provo. They’re also splitting the costs for Idaho State’s charter flight to UNLV and making up a difference of $95,000 between the guarantee costs for the BYU-UNLV and Idaho State-UNLV games.

Maggard said the 2020 game against BYU — even though it does not play in a conference — could soon count toward Missouri fulfilling the Southeastern Conference’s provision that its teams schedule at least one nonconference game against a “Power 5” school starting in 2016.
