The policy with which we are enforcing the political category regarding political figures has been changed. The current rule states, "Some light-hearted mocking of public figures is allowed, but that is completely at the moderators' discretion, so don't let it get out of hand." The change is that "light-hearted mocking" will now include relatively benign name-calling of those public figures.

Why the change? I've been convinced by the other mods that the existing policy wasn't having much (if any) effect on the tone of political discourse on the site.
