You will not miss the iPhone unless you are fully invested in the Apple world
Macbook, iPhone, ipad, etc. Then maybe you will.
I used an iPhone for 2 years and it was a decent phone. Super boring, but it worked. I switched to Android 4 years ago and now when I use an iPhone I feel like I'm holding some piece of ancient tech.
My wife made the switch from iPhone to Android (surprised the yewt out of me) and now she will never go back. She loves her HTC One M8.
If you want to have a boring phone that will only ever "innovate" to the level that Android devices did last year, get an iPhone.
