My Blue/White Game Observations
Players that I noticed and think will have an impact next year:

1. Trey Dye. Looks a lot more confident in the offense. Pretty hard to tackle once he catches the ball. Quick player, should see action at the X receiver
2. Nick Kurtz. Caught a tough ball in the endzone surrounded by defenders and hung on to it. Also caught a deep ball out of bounds but like his hands and good speed and size.
3. Nate Carter. I think we have three backs to be able to count on this fall. Jamaal obvious, Alge Brown, and Nate Carter. Nate had a diving touchdown where he flipped head over heals and scored.
4. Lui Lapahao. We all know this but he looks really good now a full year back from the mission. Very physical. Didn't get beat once in the one on ones.
5. Eric Takanaka. Didn't notice him much in pass coverage but good at supporting the run and laid the wood a few times on running backs.
6. Takitaki. Really good size and in the backfield a lot. Had a nice tackle for loss.
7. Devon Blackmon. Had a couple of catches on deep balls in seven on seven from Taysom. He is not a physical receiver at all but seems to have speed deep. Not too sure on this one because the DB's are totally unproven.

On defense Kaufusi looked good on D-line. Other than Kaufusi and Takanaka and Takitaki not seeing much from the defense tonight. Taysom had plenty of zip on the ball, he was throwing darts in seven on seven, jogged around with no limp, looked good. A lot of third and fourth string guys played tonight. Tanner Balderee moved from D End to Tight End and had a catch. Other than Balderee didn't notice the tight end at all.
