That was an almost guaranteed 2 points, freely given. And, because ND had used their last time-out to make that awful defensive call, there would be no way to set up their own last attempt at a field goal. If that time-out had resulted in a better defensive scheme, then maybe we could look back and say it was idea to call the time-out. Since they did nothing special on defense coming out of that time-out, it was a waste. I mean, they called the same defense that had given up easy bucket after easy bucket to Towns down at point-blank range. And EVERYBODY knew Towns was getting the ball. At least try to force a jump shot for crying out loud. ND played a heck of a game, but the coach choked that one down the stretch.
