My wife and I celebrate 15 years of marriage later this year. We have been planning a getaway but with four kids it is hard to go too far away for too long. We really enjoy Southern California and the beaches. With that in mind, I pulled off a great getaway for my wife and I. It just happens our favorite team will be at the Rose Bowl against UCLA later this year. That event just happens to correspond well with our anniversary. So it is set, we will be flying in earlier in the week to enjoy Southern California and what it has to offer and then while celebrating 15 years we will be able to watch BYU get a huge win (hopefully) against UCLA on the road. Genius!!

With that in mind, some questions. Recommendations on places to stay? Best Beach in Southern CA? We are leaning towards a hotel/beach in Orange County. Best local place to eat while we are there? Do I buy my away tickets through BYU, through UCLA, or some other place? I already have some things in mind, but I am curious what CougarBoard would recommend. Do we hit Disneyland or Universal Studios for a day or just enjoy the Beaches? We plan on hitting the Newport Beach Temple while we are there. We will have about 4 full days to spend there including game day. Anything we need to know in advance prior to making our first trip to the Rose Bowl?

As a side note, It will be interesting to see how BYU matches up. UCLA lost their starting QB to graduation but I think they expect to start a 5 star QB as a freshman. I am hoping BYU pulls off the win but I am prepared to have a great week regardless.
