Adding BYU to the conference was a big help to the Zags.
Adding prestige to a member of the conference will help the entire WCC. Gonzaga winning would add that prestige.
Them winning really does legitimize the WCC. If they lose, people could say: "Well, they weren't that good, they just don't play anybody."
Them winning says: "They're a great team."
