I'm definitely biased. Watched an old VHS of "NBA Superstars" not long ago.
I was 10 in 1990 and was a huge MJ fan. Seems like the stars of those days (MJ, Bird, Magic, Mailman, Barkley, Isiah, Nique, Hakeem, Drexler, The Admiral, Stockton, Ewing, Zo, Kemp, Mutumbo, etc.) were so much more entertaining than the stars of today. It was so intense and there was a battle every year. The original Dream Team was the best basketball team ever assembled.

That said...

The NBA now is really, really good too. And I'm sure there is a kid out there just like me watching Lebron now the way I was watching MJ. You know the kids on the playgrounds are calling "I'm Westbrook!" "I'm Kobe!" "I'm CP3!"... The NBA is in great shape. It has star power all over the place. Vets and rookies and up and comers abound.

It all comes down to what era you prefer IMO.
