A proposed bowl in Tucson would become the 41st.
The Cure Bowl (Orlando) with tie in to the American and Sun Belt, begins operation this year. The new Tucson bowl (called the Arizona Bowl for now) will features teams from the MWC and C-USA. They organizers have set this year as the target gate.
That would mean that 82 of the 128 FBS teams (64%), if eligible, would participate in post-season play.
