It just doesn't seem like reinventing the team over and over through the last decade is a recipe for overall success. And I'm not just talking tweaks, or themes, or personalization of the team. I'm talking consistent overhauls of the program--from coaching staff, to philosophy, to team leadership, etc.
Is it because Mendenhall has never struck on the recipe for success? Or is he just scrambling to put out fires every year? Something else?
Regardless of the reason, until the team builds up a culture and consistency that goes from year to year and that the players respect and pass on to the underclassmen as the come in, there won't be the continuity that most (all?) great football teams need.
