There are not many other places to stay...

You might find a few places but not many. Plan to pay for parking each night. You will find some B&B and the Turtle resort on the North Shore not far from Laie. Also, there is the Marriott and Disney resorts about 30 minutes beyond the airport.

You can always get back to Honolulu within an hour or so except during the extended rush hours.
