Here's one stat that is fairly telling:
Since 2000 (the first season of MWC basketball), Gonzaga has had a total of 19 NCAA Tournament wins.
Since 2000, the 6 leftover MWC schools combined have totaled 13 NCAA Tournament wins (none of Boise, Fresno, Nevada, SJSU or USU have won an NCAA Tournament game since they've joined the MWC).
(Breakdown by school)
SDSU: 6
UNLV: 3
New Mexico: 2
Colorado State: 1
Wyoming: 1
Air Force: 0
Those numbers are as much of a reflection on Gonzaga's success as they are the fact that the MWC has been putrid in the postseason for many years. The MWC now has a club of 3 schools (Air Force, Boise State, and San Jose State) that have never won a single NCAA Tournament game. FYI, because someone may ask: The WCC has 1 team that has never won an NCAA Tournament game-Portland.
