Yoeli Childs is a 6-foot-7, 210-pound “banger” who preps at Bingham (UT) High School. His AAU coach Tim Davis call him a “throwback guy” who moves well for his size and has developed a nice hook shot. As a sophomore for the Miners he averaged 11.1 points and 5.3 rebounds and was named to the 5A third team. He posted a season high 22 points and 17 rebounds against eventual state champs Lone Peak in the 5A quarterfinals. During his junior season he averaged 16.4 points and 10.7 rebounds, leading the miners to the 5A quarterfinals and being named to the 5A first team. He had a season high 30 points and 15 rebounds vs. Durango, Nev.
