When fitness becomes a job and stressful routine, I check out.
I eat reasonable sized portions of whatever throughout the week. I eat whatever I want on the weekends and I get to the gym 3/4 days a week.

Beyond that, life is too short for me to stress over food and routines. With that said, if you find enjoyment by doing this than by all means.
