You have to rely on parental controls for your individual apps.
Roku doesn't provide content. It's a portal to access your subscribed services (netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime, etc.) and any free apps you might download. I may be wrong, but I don't believe that there are any parental controls on the device itself.
