That show is good and very unique.
It doesn't develop its characters like most modern comedies. Rather, it establishes them as archetypes and then puts them in different situations each week. In some of the later seasons, there is a bit more character development. The show is ambitious in approach, but the result is that it can be hit-or-miss. Other comedies that commit to character development can afford poor episodes along the way because if the audience has grown to love the characters, the show is given a lot of leeway. Consequently, this is why I have a hard time with House of Cards. The plot and pacing were terrific in the first 2 seasons, but I can't stand every character on that show. The third season is not as well written and because I can't stand the characters, I'm having a hard time finishing it.

I digressed, but I agree with you that Community is funny. It's also very ambitious, which I appreciate.
