People are burned out and not responding to emails anymore. I forwarded on the idea that when a request to help comes in, the first response should be, "Our youth are trying to raise money for high adventures and camps this summer. Would you be interested in hiring them?" If they say, "well, we really can't afford that," then you say no problem, we will extend an offer to serve to the EQ and HP. Just be sure that everything is boxed and wrapped." That got a "great idea, but not sure we could do that without offending folks." Whatever, I'm starting to get offended by the several emails per day of pleading and guilt trips to spend another Saturday moving beds, book shelves, pianos, and washing machines in and out of trucks with the Sister begging for you to be careful with her priceless furniture.
And with that rant, I am headed out the door to help a family move out that I helped move in last July...
