What hasn't been mentioned is that a return to the MWC would also pretty much end any chance of appearing in the final-four playoffs, because the strength of schedule in any of the G5 conferences isn't ever going to be good enough (or at least very, very rarely). So, that's even more reason to never even think of returning to a G5 conference.
