I ask that we stop using gofundme. There are other similar sites that are less
political.

The back story. Christian bakers (with 5 children) say they won't bake a cake for a gay wedding. They lose and are forced to bake the cake. Instead they close down their business and livelihood. They are also fined $135,000 (pending review from another judge) for “emotional suffering stemming directly from unlawful discrimination”.

They set up a gofundme campaign and raise $109,000 in about 8 hours. Gofundme then shuts down the fundraising because the campaign violated the policy against raising money “in defense of formal charges of heinous crimes, including violent, hateful, or sexual acts.”

To be clear. The bakery never said they wouldn't serve gays, they never said they wouldn't hire gays. They did say they wouldn't use their services to provide a good for a gay wedding.

I've donated lots of dollars to people via gofundme. I will never do so again. If you wish to raise money from me use a different site.
Forcing Christian bakers to bake a cake for a gay wedding is intolerant. It's as stupid as making a black photographer take pics of a KKK wedding (and then fining that black photographer $135,000 for not taking the pics and then taking the photographers business license and livelihood.)

FWIW - If I were a baker I wouldn't have a problem baking a cake for a gay wedding. But I support this business owner's right to say no thanks.
