My biased take (my undergrad is in computer engineering)
The hardware and design jobs you get as a computer engineer are harder to export overseas than straight coding jobs, although it still happens a ton.

Can't really comment on job prospects or salary, but my guess is that computer engineers probably have a higher top end. A seasoned engineer or fellow at a tech company like Intel probably makes well north of $200k.

I should also note that I've seen lots of CS majors fit right in and excel at computer engineering jobs.
