$496 in PG? Did your manison have waterfalls, a basketball court, and a pool?
That's pushing California electricity costs. What is your typical loading during a summer day?

I've gone through the past summer in my new home, 3620 sq. ft (1818 main, full basement) and my prices were very similar to Cougarnerd's, and I'm using halogen can-lights, lots of 'em.

I'd have to be running the AC to 68F, leave my shop air compressor on all the time, and have my wife cook with the double oven every meal and I'm still not sure I can push $500 in a month. Even if my home was 3600 square feet with a basement (7200 total) I'm not sure I could top $500.

My utility is Rocky Mountain, so even though I'm in rural Utah, I pay the generic RMP rate. Is PG on RMP? If not, maybe PG just has ridiculously high utility rates and you need to consider changing your moniker to PioneerDad.
